Teams: Each team shall consist of 4 players (3 players on the court and 1 substitute).

Game Rules

 Each team must have a minimum of 3 players and a maximum of 4 on its roster.

The names of these players must be on the registration form by the entry deadline.

Additions and/or changes to any roster must be approved and recorded before starting the team’s first game.

No roster changes are allowed once a team has started its first game. A player is

Allowed to participate for only one team for the duration of the tournament.

All players must nominate a team captain that will represent his/her team as a spokesperson at all times. In addition, the captain of both teams will need to update the bracket after each game.

All games must start within 2 minutes of the clock start. A team must have at least two players. They forfeit if a team doesn’t have at least two players within 2 minutes of the start.

The tallest player on the court is to shoot a three-pointer to decide initial possession.

Starting Play/Throw-InThe ball must be checked and thrown (not dribbled) behind the top of the arc of the three-point line.

Scoring and Game PlayScoring: Baskets made from inside the arc count as two points. Baskets made when The shooter has both feet behind the arc count as three points. The ball changes possession after each scored basket.

After a basket has been scored or a foul called, a player must put the ball in play from a line past the three-point line above the foul key.

Winning: The first team to 25 wins, straight up. 15-Minute Running Clock. If the game is tied after regulation, overtime will be played. The shortest player on the court will shoot a three-pointer to decide possession. The first team to score 5 points or more (ex. Team makes a two-pointer and a three-pointer = five points) wins the game.Stalling​: No stalling is allowed. A 12-second shot clock applies at all times. Jump Balls​: All jump balls become the possession of the defensive team. Time Outs​: Each team is allowed one 30-second timeout per game. The running gameThe Clock does not stop during any timeouts. Therefore, no timeouts are permitted in the last three.Minutes of the game.

Ball Clearance​: In the play, the ball must be “cleared” on each change of possession.“Cleared” means BOTH feet must be behind the three-point arc. Failure to clear the basketball is a violation. If the offensive team makes a basket before the ball is cleared, the basket does not count, and there is to be a change of possession. Substitutions may be made after a basket or an out-of-bounds play.

 No Parking Zone​: There is no 3-second rule, per se. However, the expectation is that. Players do not park in the key. Therefore, a 5-second rule where a player may not be in the key. Violations will result in a change of possession.

Fouls​: Players call their own fouls, or teams will be assigned a court monitor to oversee the game. A foul may only be called by the player on the court who was fouled at the time of the foul or by the designated court monitor. The ball will be taken out above the top of the three-point line if a foul is called. A player May foul six times before being disqualified for that game. Violence is an immediate disqualification and an automatic team loss.

Buy-back challenge. A team that is out of the tournament may buy back their way into the tournament by the following:

The captain must donate a $40 minimum to the sponsored charity. Any team or individual that donates equal to or more than a $100 buyback charitable donation will get free entry to the next tournament.

They must challenge a team they have NOT yet played that is still in the tournament.

If a buyback team wins the tournament, Beast Real Estate will match all the charitable buyback donations, and if the buyback team wins the tournament, that team will win the entire buyback pot and winning pot.

You must place your buyback within 5 minutes of losing. This means let it be known that you are challenging, pay the buyback, and be ready to play immediately.

Prize money to the winning team:-$300-$2,000 closing credit on the purchase of your next home or investment property.

-One free investor consultation.-In addition, the winning team will win half of all matched buyback contributions unless you are a buyback team, in which case you will win all the matched contributions of the buyback.

Tournament Goal

We are raising donations for Ellovate, and bringing the community together. All proceeds from this event go to the nonprofit Ellovate to support mental health and wellness for children and teenagers in Utah.

Ellovate, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that exists to place proper awareness and focus on personal wellness through education and advocacy. Ellovate defines wellness as a state of complete and balanced health pertaining to an individual’s mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.

 

Through our Pathways to Wellness program, we focus on helping children, teenagers, and young adults in Utah improve their mental health and overall wellness through open dialog, beneficial activities, positive social interactions, and the creation of healthy habits. Ellovate also works with parents and guardians whose children are battling anxiety, depression, and other mental health struggles to help guide them on developing a pathway to recovery for each individual child in need.
